Classic Movie Night

I am so excited tonight after work a friend of mine from church, Jade, is going to come over and we are going to watch a classic chick flick. I watched Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion with her. So, we have decided that we should have a monthly Classic Chick Flick Movie night. Tonight she is in charge of the movie so I am not sure which one she is bringing, I know it will be good though. If anyone is around my neighborhood tonight and wants to join us you most certianly can, the fun begins at 8:30.

Amy asked which Persuasion it was and it was this version. I guess there are a couple.

I will type at you all later. Call me if you can come!!

SSShhhh, we're watching a movie

Friday night the boys left for a Mini Man Camp. They did an overnight hike and fun was had by all. I asked Damien what his favorite part of the trip was, and he said that it was going #2 in a hole! That is probably Ben's favorite part too. He loves being one with nature as he would call it. Sunday Becca and her family left for home, we said our goodbyes and we then went home and watched the short version of "Pride and Prejudice" and we were both very dissapointed after seeing the 6 hour vesion.

Monday came and I had to go back to work. I didn't work very long though by 0830 I had to get out. I was awful, the drive home I was praying the entire way to make it home without stopping, thankfully I did. I took a little nap and felt 1000 times better. We rented a movie "Persuasion" another Jane Austen Movie, and loved it. We have watched it three times now. Yes, we. Ben is a Jane Austen fan.

So, we ordered Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Rigelltto. They should be here next week and we are so excited. We will probably order Persuasion and Sandlot soon too. This week we have also watched The Two Towers Extended version and Surf's Up. Alot of movies going on here.

Scrapbook has not really happened this week or last week I want to get back into it, I just needed a little break I guess. Some good news on that front though is that Monday was the sign up for the Photography class I told you about last week and in 10 min it was sold out! Thankfully though I was on the computer right when they went on sale. I really didn't think that 200 seat would go that quickly. I am excited though it starts Monday and should be pretty good.

I will get some more pics up from the week later, probably Sat. It has taken me all day to get this far so I better get this published so that I don't lose it. I will type at you all later. Hope all is well.

Family Time

Hey everyone! I wanted to at least come and say hi and let you know what we've been up to. Becca and her family came in on Sat and we have been having a great time together. Sunday we had a Father's day dinner just to get everyone together. It was fun and I really can't believe how silly Owen is. He taught Max and Jesse a new trick on the swing, belly swings. He just flies right on to the swing and there is a bounce of the swing set when he hits it. It is so funny to watch.

Monday we had our family pictures with a hicup. The photographer didn't show. It's okay we kept on changing the days from Tues, to Wed then to Mon so she had it down for Wed. So, we did it without her, there was a maintenence guy around and so he took the pic of us all together. Here we all are.

Then we all went to the beach. It was very windy and all the adults forgot to bring sweatshirts so Pismo got our business for the day. We had a great time there. Ben was the only one who dared to jump in. The kids had no idea what to really think about the ocean they thought it was a little chilly and Owen didn't want to have anything to do with it.

Yesterday we chilled at grandma's and the girls went out to eat and got some stuff for Owen's brithday party tomorrow. We are going to have a pinata, so it will be interesting with the 2 year olds and the bat. Damien will have to be blind folded, he could probably knock it to tim-buck-to.

Today we are going to tie a quilt that my mom and Becca made and we are going to go to an session at the temple. I have to walk the dogs first before I can join them. So, I need to get going, I will type at you all later.

Here we are

We still haven't heard anything from the owners of the dogs. It is looking more and more like we might be keeping them. I guess that I will be okay with that it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be.

Last night we stayed up until about 1am watching the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice. It was really good, I will probably buy it at some point, I have also been looking for the movie Rigoletto and I finally found it. My grandma sent us some movies when we were younger and this was probably my favorite one that she sent. I just always forget to search for it. Finally, I did it. I know Becca will be excited.

When I was looking at my blogs I visit today one of the sites had a link to scrapbooking free fonts and so I thought that I would share those too. I totally loved them. Kevin and Amanda Fonts for Peas and Free Scrapbook Fonts from Kevin and Amanda. On both of the sites if you scroll down to the end there is a link to download them, all if you like them all.

My Days off are over I have to go to work tomorrow, it is pretty sad. I really have enjoyed being off and keeping things up and running here, but I have to get on the work bandwagon again, yuck. But, don't you worry I am only working two days and then I will be off for another 8 days. Becca and her family is driving from Idaho tomorrow and will be here sometime on Sat.Sunday we are doing dinner at my parents and Monday Sarah O. is taking our family pictures. After that we are heading out to Pismo for the day. I can't wait. My camera is charged and ready to go, don't you all worry about that.

I haven't left you with any LO's for a couple of days so here a couple for ya.
This is when we got our grass put in last April

This is from Jonah's Blessing last May.

I hope everyone is doing well. I will type at you all later.

Bruno and Cocoa

Our story continues. We have had them for almost three days now and I think that everyone is handling things pretty well. Ben is extatic about them. He just wishes that is was cooler so that he could play outside with them more. It has been in the 90's all week and is supposed to be 102 on Friday. We have named them, Bruno the bigger and older one and Cocoa the smaller and crazier one. I got Bruno from "Cinderella" remember from the movie, "Yes, Bruno! Get Bruno! Get Bruno!" when Cinderella is trapped her bedroom. Cocoa because they are brown, I didn't want the name chocolate so Cocoa happened.

Yesterday we bravely took them to the Vet to have them scanned to see if either of them had a chip. Cocoa does. It wasn't as bad as a trip as I thought it would be. they did very well in the Sub, of course Ben was there for the brute strength of the operation. I drove and he kept things under control. They weren't jumping and cruising around as much as I thought that they would be. They just sat and watched. In the vets office of all the animals that we saw they were by far the biggest of all of them put together and there were three dogs and a cat.

Whoever had these dogs before was really good with them. Yesterday we had them in the house with the baby gate up so they could cool down, for a couple of hours and as soon as they were outside on the grass they peed which I am so greatful it wasn't inside. They are inside now and hopefully they will keep up this good behavior.

We got them a couple cheap leashes so that we could take them out on walks, last night we went on one and this morning I braved them by myself and took them out.

We have went through a couple of balls already, a tennis ball that they split in half and a hard plactic ball that was no longer in ball shape. So now we are playing with a softball and that seems to be holding up. As soon as you go out there that is the first thng they start to look for and give you so you can play fetch. They are so nutty when it comes to fetch, Cocoa never gets the ball but if you hold it too long without throwing it he will start barking so that you will throw it. That is the only time they bark, when we're playing fetch.

I didn't quite mean for this post to be all about them but it happens, and right now they are the most exciting thing that is going on in our life. I hope that all is going well, I will type at you all later.

"This is like, the best thing that has ever happened to me"

This is the statment I get from Ben when I tell him that I didn't blog about his greatest moment today.

Ben came in the house after I thought he had left for the day and said to me, "We have visitors. They bumbardoed me when I tried to leave for work. It's two cheasapeak retreaviers. Don't worry, they're in the backyard."

What the heck? How am I supposed to sleep after you tell me that?? He left and I had to go check out the situation. Yep there are two big dogs in my backyard.

He came back a little later and told me that he opened the garage to go to work and was pulling out when they started attacking (I would consider it attacking and he would say it was playing) him and trying to get into the car. So he stopped got them in the backyard and came and told me the above.

So, the three pounds in the area have been called and messages left. There of course is no collar. We will have to figure out when we are going to see if they have a chip. I really don't want to put them in the car they are a little high strung. They haven't dug up the garden yet, or anything for that matter, thankfully. If they had they would have been gone already. We had two toy balls that were cheap that they ruined, but they were not meant to me chewed on like that. Yes, I had to go and get them food. Now we have to wait to see if someone calls for them. Here they are in all of their glory.

The one standing is bigger than the one sitting and they are both males.

I would ask that you would all pray for me and my sanity. We all know that Ben has wanted a dog, but we have been procratinating that day very well for so long. I will type at you all later.

Tracker

Summer is here, so I had to put a new summer dress on the blog. Like it? I do.

So, I have no idea how many people visit my blog so Thursday or so I decided to put this tracker on. I have had fifty hits since then, some of course were me checking how many hits I got. That is though more than I had expected.

Saturday, we thought that we were going to go to Yosemite but we didn't wake up until 10:30 and then we weren't ready to go anywhere until about noon so driving for a few hours didn't sound appealing. We did nothing around the house for a while and then Gabe and Jade called and invited us to go biking out at Woodward Park. We had nothing better to do so we went. We had never been there biking so is was pretty fun. They have a huge course of hills that Ben and Gabe went on, I did go on a few but was not about to take too many chances. I probably would have eaten it pretty bad. We got some chinese food, came home and chilled with them.

Sunday we went to church, of course. I have offically decided that I am going to ride seperate from Ben, I don't need to be hanging out after church for no reason just so that we can ride together. After Church we went to Gabe and Jade's and hung out with them watching the Alaskan Experiment. Some thing that Ben totally loved since it was about people spending three months in the Alaska trying to survive. I would have been dead the first day. Ben wanted to try and do that. More power to ya bud, see ya in three months. We then had dinner at Abe and Leann's and I got some cuddle time with there youngest of four, who is 2 months. I loved it.

That was our weekend how was yours? Type at you all later.

Time Off

Happy Happy Day, I have been off for the past few days but no worries i sitll have off until next Friday. I am so excited about that. We had planned to go camping with Beth and Kevin and Kevin's family at the beach but then we decided that things around us were getting too expensive and we needed to cut something out.

Some may remember my post from a couple weeks ago talking about the Nissan breaking down well it hasn't quite stopped, it hasn't been the Nissan but other things. Last week Thursday I started the dryer and went somewhere for an hour and when I came back the dryer was still running I didn't think much of it as it can take more than an hour to dry clothes sometimes. Well, another hour went by and it was still spinning, I knew something was wrong. I opened the door and the clothes were wet and cold. Dagum it! It was past five and so I couldn't call a repair man then, I finally took the clothes over to get them dried at a friends house it didn't take long as they had been slowly air drying in the dryer while it tumbled. Friday the repair man came out and said he could fix the heating element and lube up the parts. He didn't have the part on him so he had to come back Saturday and fixed it in 30 min. and $140 bucks later. Oh well, the dryer works.

Going back to Friday, Ben calls me at work and tells me a tire on the Subaru just blew and he had to go get it fixed. Ah crap! How much is a new tire going to cost, it is going to be outrageous since it is the Subaru. I talked to him again and when he showed up they were doing nothing so they were able to work right on it. He called ten min later and he was on his way and only spent $15 bucks. Woo-Hoo! That was alot better than what I was fearing.

On too much funner (I know it ain't a word LOL) things. Well, remember me talking about those points and hoping to get 40% off. I did it. Thank you very much. So what did I get, you may ask?? Of course I was going to show you.

Now I just need to do some scrapbooking with it all and why haven't I been scrapbooking still, because of those darn Twilight books. I am finished with them until the last one comes out in August. I do wish I wouldn't let myself get so sucked up into books but I just can't help it. Hopefully I can get a page done today. Especially since I did get the house mostly cleaned up I just have to mop the kitchen, but I needed a reward for good behavior so here I am typing to you all. I do have some Layouts to show you though. I was telling Erin about this one earlier since I totally scraplifted her

Here is another LO from the same day.

My Birthday is coming up quicker than I thought and I also told Erin about this and that I would post a link for her. I think that this is going to be my birthday present to myself, from Ben. It is from Jessica Sprauge. As you all know I have gotten into picture taking and I have this new camera I don't know too much about but I love it. Even with how little I know I have improved my pictures 100%. So I need to take a class and this one is online for 6 weeks and I can review the tutorials forever. I think that this is going to be great for me especially since I don't have to go somewhere.

Well, I think that this is enough for now, so I will type at you all later.

From Our Blog 2 Yours

They are changing up the challenges at Sweet Shoppe wo this is now on Thursday's. Here's today's: "While I like to think of myself as a cool nerd (or maybe I prefer “geek” to nerd? Is there a difference?), deep down, I know that a nerd by any other name is still a nerd. LOL! When I found this fun test online, I had to take it to see exactly HOW nerdy I was. The results pretty much confirmed my expectations."

I am nerdier than 47% of all people. Are you a nerd? Click here to find out!

Woo Hoo! I am not too nerdy, I know that some of you had worries about me :)I'll post more later. I really need to clean the house. I think a grenade was balsted in here!

Hey

Hey all just checking in. for the past few days that I have worked I have had an orientee which is usually advanced enough to do most of the job without my constant supervision which means that I am usually bored out of my mind at work. I have been very tempted to bring the third Twilight book but I just can't do that because I know that I would really be useless and very distracted. So, I just try to keep myself busy. These past two days haven't been so bad because my Orientee leaves at 3:30 (since she hasn't finished school yet) so I have some things to do that keep me busy in the evening. Yes, I am rambling but hey, this is what is going on.
This past weekend Ben went on an overnight campout with the scouts, even though he isn't the Scoutmaster any more he still wants to do the hikes, since he just loves it. So, I was home ALONE!!! WOO HOO!! I got home from work at about 8pm and started readin the second Twilight book and stayed up until 2am reading it, (Yeah I know, I am lame, but you all love me anyways). I got up at about 8am, and read again until I finished it, which was about noon. Yes, I am very lame, but still you all love me :) I had to do that though, Ben can't be home and just let me read, he wants all of my attention whenever he is home, it can be quite annoying when I have things I want to do. Well, it may not be that he wants all my attention, he more or less wants me to be readily available at all times to whatever he needs and when I am engrossed in a book, I am unavailable. I ordered the third book, and it will be here any day, but we went over to a friends house on Sunday night and she had the third book so I am borrowing hers until mine gets here which may not be until the 9th, which I am very impatient, so I got hers. I haven't had any time to read though since I have had work and here we are back in full circle to my dilemmea of to bring or not to bring in the book.
Well, I have to get back to work, type at you all later.
