Who Does She look Like?

I have wanted to put her picture next to ours for a while now. And so here it is. I do think she has my cheeks and nose. What do you think?

Surprise!!

So, Monday my mom called and said "guess what?" I was just hoping that she wasn't going to say that my dad was back at Kaiser. Nope, she said we're coming home Wednesday. I couldn't believe it. He just started walking on the 16th. So, the past couple of days my mom has been working on getting ready for him to come home. I am worried. I really hope that this wasn't too soon. I know that they want to come home but it doesn't mean that he is ready to come home. I called at about 5 and they were home and had a couple of problems that were fixed. It is going to be alot of work and I hope my mom calls for help before she starts drowning.
In other news...well, there really isn't any other news. Just life happening. Ben went and checked in on Katelynn this morning and he found her laying sideways across the head of her bed. I think she used her heels and dug them in to move around. Rolling is not how she got there, because if she ended up on her tummy she would be screaming.
I have also decided that no matter what is going on, somedays will always be better than others. Today wasn't a horrible day but it wasn't my favorite either. There seems to be always something else to figure out with her. I also feel that time is flying by. I thought it was slow in the beginning, when I was pulling my hair out but now I only have three weeks until I have to go back to work. I know it is only one day a week but it still seems like so much. I just want to be there for her all the time. Even when Ben is home from work I have a hard time letting him take care of her and I know he wants to but I just always take her from him. Ecspecially when she is crying (not that its alot, babies do cry) I just want to hold her and comfort her and I know that he wants to do that too. I guess it will be good for me to get away. Wow, that was rambling.
I better get to bed. Talk to you later.

Quiet

I wonder, am I too quiet? Mainly for Katelynn. I guess I just think about weird things now and then and this is one of those. The TV and radio aren't playing really at all through the day. Of course I talk to her but I really don't know what to say. I am sure she won't have any problems, she may just like the quiet when she gets older. That may be hard though when siblings come.

In other news we went swimming on Saturday and Katelynn HATED it. It was way too cold for her liking. I put her feet in and she just screamed and then she was splashed and she screamed even harder. I was able to get her used to the water for her feet but that was about it. Then Ben did the biggest splash off the slide and all the water landed on her and that was the end. We moved over to the table and kept dry.

I didn't post a pic of Katelynn on her 3 months but I do have a video that I think is better. As you can tell I stopped it right before a squeal and then we got her out of the bumbo.

And in case you were wondering my dad is improving. he has had a couple set backs but has been clear of those and in one place for almost a month so he is doing better. He is able to assist more with all the activities of daily living. Like feeding himself, helping more to get out of bed and sitting up in a wheelchair. He can stand with a walker but his left side is still Very weak and he can't lift that leg too well. The physical therapist said that he thinks he might be there for another month or two. As long as there is progress we are all happy, even if it is slow.

Until next time. I'll talk to you later.

3 months

Wow! 3 months already. She is doing really great. After rolling up onto her side twice she has not done it since. She still has absolutley no interest at all in tummy time. She has started cooing and babbling allot. She will stare up at you and start talking if you engage her. She is still sleeping in her room and I am getting more used to it, as I guess I need to turn up the monitor because Ben is waking up before I do and he never would wake up to her when she was in our room.
She has found her fists. One time I checked on her while she was napping and she had her thumb in her mouth, but it doesn't stay there long. She still loves her binky and goes to bed and naps with it.
I don't think I posted this but at her 2 month check up she weighed 12lbs 11 oz and was 24 inches tall. She was 95% for height and 90% for weight, but if you average it together then she is at 50% for her height and weight. Meaning she carries her weight well for her height.
I have started putting her in her bumbo this week and she is still getting used to that. She'll last 10min or so. She loves to play with her batting gym she'll stay there for a good half hour or more. I think the ducky is her favorite because when she is sitting in her bumbo and batting she tries the hardest to eat the ducky and gives it her evil eye. In the morning when I am eating breakfast I lay her under the black and white and red play mat and plays there.
She is growing so much it really is amazing to watch her. She is so much fun and we love her so much. I can't believe after all this time that she is here and growing so much everyday. We are so greatful for her and her spirit.

Short Clip

I'm still here

It surely isn't as easy to post any more. I really just need to type and not be looking for nothing on the Internet. Things are going allot better. Ben went back to work yesterday and I am definitely trying to get used to that.
The big thing that happened this weekend is that we started putting her in her crib. The first night was extremely hard. I kept waking up and listening. At 1:30 I woke up and Ben still wasn't in bed, he had been staying up late but not that late. The house was quite so I didn't know where he was. I checked the family room and he didn't fall asleep on the couch, I checked the office and he wasn't there. He was asleep on the futon in the nursery. I woke him and asked what he was doing and he said that he was worried about her and that he didn't want someone to take in the night. I thought that was so sweet. He REALLY does love her so much. He would do anything for her.
Yesterday I went to the dentist and Ben watched her. While they were waiting Katelynn pooped. And Ben can't stop talking about how HUGE and green it was. And it got everywhere, on his arm on her leg, while he was changing it. It was front to back, but didn't leak out. If you see him ask him about it and he will get SSSOOOO animated about it.
I got my Birthday present on Thursday. A new video camera. We have had some fun with it and I am so glad that we have it. Just for the memories. We took it over the Beth and Kevin's for Grandma Mary's birthday and took some video there. I'll have to figure out how to copy and transfer. I haven't done that yet, but I think that it will be pretty easy.
By the way, does anyone want a half used big can of Enfamil? I opened it two weeks ago and she gets way too fussy and spitupy (There was projectile puke last night from it). Let me know and I'll get it to you ASAP.
I'll try and get a video up today. She has been she has been sleeping for an hour and a half, so my free time might be over soon. Type at you all later.
