Nesting Has Begun

I think with moving into a smaller house everything seems to be everywhere. And Ben and I can't stand it any longer. Today Ben mowed the lawns and then proceeded to clean out the back covered patio "sun room." We have been talking about kicking the dogs out of there for a while but we finally did it. We just need to get a storage container for all the yard stuff and it will be perfect.



Ben then tossed bags of stuff from the attic and put more stuff to replace it in the attic area. Ben really wants to clean up the garage so that it is organized more and I am all for it. There is stuff that we just don't use and won't be using so it needs to go.

As for the inside I have been going through all of Katelynn's clothes finding the things she doesn't fit and sending them to Taylor. Katelynn and the baby will be sharing a closet so I have moved Katelynn's stuff to one side and am putting the baby's stuff on the the other. I am going to go through this house room by room and clean it top to bottom over the next 16 weeks and hopefully keep everything organized between now and then.

Easter #2

On Friday afternoon before Easter we went over to my parents house and had our Easter Party. We Dyed eggs. Katelynn dyed one egg but REALLY wanted to drink the dye and was very upset that I wouldn't let her drink it. She got over it though. There was an egg hunt. This is the first year that I can remember that we didn't hide the boiled eggs. Last year Damien was only hunting the plastic ones. If he found a boiled one he would leave it for his brothers.
The hunt was on and Katelynn knew exactly what eggs she wanted. Grandma bought some eggs that had a plastic wrapping on them and she would only put those in her basket. She found one that had Starburst jellybeans in it and it opened and I thought she would sit and eat the Jellybeans but she would have nothing to do with them. She did not want that egg. We soon found out that the eggs she liked had stickers in them and I told the boys if they didn't want the stickers they could give them to Katelynn. When we got home and she learned that there were "sicks" in them she wanted them all opened and we put them in her coloring book. I think next year she will be excited about the candy eggs.
We had an awesome dinner with a great ham from Costco cooked by Grandma, Relief Society Potatoes with real potatoes not the frozen, homemade bread by Sarah, Rainbow Jello that I won't be making again (way to time consuming and didn't taste good), corn on the cob, Fruit Salad, and of course the Bunny Cake.
Everyone played outside until it was too cold and windy to be outside.

Easter #1...

Last weekend Caleb and Heather came up for the weekend. Everyone got together and had we had a big dinner on Sunday after church. The kids had a great time playing together in Beth and Kevin's Backyard. Mary brought some stuff and we were able to have an Easter Egg hunt. This was Katelynn's first actual hunt, last year she just smiled big and ate some goldfish. I showed Katelynn where an egg was and to put it into her bag. After she saw it done the first time she was all over it. I would point to another egg and she would run go to it and put it in her bag. She found quite a few which I later gave to the other kids since we (I) didn't need to eat all of those chocolate eggs. There was a bunny for each of the kids that Katelynn would not put into her bag. I would put it in there and she would toss it out. The bag was for eggs only.
It was fun to spend time with family.

Dogs

Yes, in case you all forgot we have two massive dogs. I do NOTHING for them. I don't feed them, walk them, play with them, NOTHING. I really just don't care for them, but we keep them since Ben wants them and Katelynn thinks they are totally awesome. Max and Jesse have been over a couple of times in the past few weeks and are totally in to these dogs. They are usually scared of them at first, then will warm up to them. When they were over on Friday I let them all play with the dogs in the front yard. Everyone was happy. The dogs loved chasing the boys and they were all licked. Jesse or Max said to me, "They really like you." I was sitting on the porch chairs and the dogs would come and sit at my feet or just be way too close to me.
We played for about an hour before my allergies got the best of me and we all had to go inside.

Max

Watch where you are going

I tell Katelynn all the time to slow down, or watch where she is walking. If we are trying to leave the house and she knows it she will be walking forward and looking behind her to make sure that I am following her. The other day we went on a walk in our neighborhood with Ben. She was in the stroller for most of the walk but then shimmied her way out and wanted to walk too. We were two houses from home, I was in front, then Katelynn then Ben. All of a sudden I heard a 'Biiinnng' and I knew exactly what had happened. She had walked into the light pole that I had just passed, and had thought to myself, Katelynn is going to hit that. She cried for ten seconds and wanted to walk again. I was laughing, and Ben took care of her.

20 weeks

Half way there.
Ever since the 18 week ultrasound I have felt the little man kicking me everyday. I usually lay down for bed and wait for him to kick goodnight and then in the morning I lay in wait for him to say good morning. Just my reassurance that he is doing good. He is getting stronger as I am now able to feel him as I am sitting or standing. Feeling him and Katelynn move was/is my favorite part of pregnancy.
The nasonex is working. I am able to mostly breathe now. I still am congested mostly on the left side, but I am not draining ridiculously anymore.
I had my monthly Doctor appointment and his heartbeat is at 160's and we are doing good. I don't know what happened with the scale at the previous appointment I totally thought that it said I gained 8 lbs but then when I was weighed this time it was the same weight and the MA said I gained 4 lbs this time. So, I think that I have now only gained 8 lbs. The doctor looked up my record from Katelynn and I weigh exactly the same at halfway, but I look bigger, I think.
Here I am at 20 weeks.



For a comparison this is me at 22 weeks with Katelynn. I am definitely bigger this time. Oh, dear.
I have started to pick up some boy clothes and it is so hard to find things that I like. Everything has to have animal on it or a saying that I don't like. Now I understand why mom's of boys complain about the selection for boys.

Wicked fun

I have some catching up to do and time hasn't left me a chance to do it until now.
Way back in September Becca called and said that Wicked the Musical was coming to Fresno, and we were all going to go. We got our tickets for Opening night through my work in December and then we waited until April for the show to come.
April 2nd we get the call from Becca that her oldest was just diagnosed with hand foot and mouth and would not be able to come to Fresno after all. This happened the day before they were to leave to come to Fresno. We were all bummed since she was the one who told us that we were going.
Wednesday came and all I knew about Wicked was that it was a very good musical and that it was the story of the witches before Dorthy came around. It really was awesome. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Galinda was hilariously stupid and Elpheba can sing. I loved the ending. All the puns at the wizard of oz were funny. Really if you have the opportunity to go, do it. You won't regret it.
I was able to sell Becca's Ticket on craigslist at the very last minute. I was checking my phone after my mom picked me up to go to the theater. I called the guy and he met us at the theater. First thing I have ever successfully sold on Craigslist.
So,on a somewhat related note, the day after Halloween last year I was at Target and found Katelynn's costume for this year. It is Dorthy. I want to find a lion costume for the boy and a witch costume for me. I will have to convince Ben to play along and be the Scare Crow. We shall see if that happens, but it would be so much fun.

A Good Day

Today we had our ultrasound to look at the full anatomy of the baby and see if there were any health concerns for the baby at this time. After being in the waiting room for 45 min we were called back and had a wonderful ultrasound tech that was fun to chat with while she was checking out the our baby. First thing that was discussed was if it was a boy or a girl....

And it's a BOY!

We are very happy that he is growing well and seems to be right on track for my dates. He weighs about 8 oz. He was snuggled up on his belly with his but in the "air" right when we started the exam and pretty much stayed that way the entire time. The tech would comment that he was very fidgety throughout the exam but was still on his belly. getting some pictures was a little difficult and so she would bounce the transducer on my belly to get him to wiggle out of that position sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

I did know that it was a boy from the beginning, as I did with Katelynn, that she was a girl. We don't have a name yet. Which we still have 20-22 weeks to figure out, so we have some time.

By the way, I am not joking that it is a Boy for all of you April Fool's people out there wondering.
