Something for me
I have been wanting a necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs ever since I first saw them. When Katelynn came I wanted one even more. I had been patient long enough I finally picked this one out and ordered it. I was a little worried when I first opened the box that it might be too big but after a couple of days I have really decided that I love it. I wanted to share it with you.
Weekend Trip
This past weekend we all went down to LA to visit with Caleb, Heather and their kids and with Micah, Jennifer and Matthew. We left Friday morning since Ben had the day off and made our way to the Carter's outlet. I LOVE going to Carter's. They have such adorable clothes. Becca and her Family are coming in the beginning of March and we are taking family pics, so we decided to get the girls matching dresses and since Becca and I are both Carter's addicts we wanted a dress from there. So, I picked up the one that I needed for Katelynn. I really never knew how much fun it would be dressing up Katelynn. The sad part is that she is already too big for some of the styles of clothes, some things are only made to 9 or 12 months and those don't fit her.
After Ben finally pulled me out of Carter's we made it the rest of the way down to LA. Katelynn did great on the car ride. I did have to keep her entertained in the back seat (we SO need a bigger car, but that is for different post), but we made it there in one piece.
We had a wonderful time. We had great food. We all went to a Tepanyaki Kitchen on Saturday night and REALLY enjoyed it. Ben and I had never been to one mainly because of me. I thought that the food was going to be full of spices that I didn't like. That was so not the case. It was so good that we need to find a place in town to go to that is as good. I think that we might try Japanese Kitchen next week. It is right next door to our favorite chinese place. I think that I have heard people say that it is good.
After MONTHS of going back and forth about it, Ben finally made the decision to get a new computer rig. He bought all the pieces down at Fry's and on Monday we put it together and guess what IT WORKS!! We are pretty proud of ourselves for that. It wasn't too hard either, it just took 3 hours and a couple of minor mistakes. The biggest problem was that a piece of hardware wasn't compatible with windows 7 and so Ben got a new peice and it works just fine and installed like a breeze. We are just excited that it was the products problem and not something that we did.
There are four birthdays within 2 months of eachother and we visited right in the middle of them so we brought down everyone's gifts and they were all enjoyed. I really think that Katelynn had a great time there. She was so entertained. Her cousins we always movign around her and she was having a blast watching them. Eden just loved being able to play with a girl even though Katelynn doesn't quite "play" she just scoots around and stares at everything and then puts something in her mouth. Joshua enjoyed her too and Jonah kept on saying "Katelynn" in his cute little nasally voice. Matthew and Katelynn are the closest in age and they were just scooting on top of eachother and grabbing toys from one another. We gave Matthew one of these

Katelynn loves playing with hers so she was helping Matthew learn how to play with his.
So after a great trip we had to head home. The trip was harder this time I was not entertaining enough for her and she was pretty tired from the whole trip so not in a very pleasing mood. We FINALLY made it home at 8 and she was alseep.
Here are some highlights from the trip

Katelynn is now getting over a cold and is doing pretty well with it she just HATES me sucking her nose and wipping her nose. She doesn't mind wiping her nose all over me though or the couches as she scoots past them. We will be going back down in just over a week and hoping for another good time. Katelynn is now awake so I will wrap this up.

Wow!
So, after I posted about scrapbooking again I checked my e-mail before going to bed and was very surprised to find out that I had been included in the Sunday Standouts on the Sweet Shoppe Blog.
For being one of their standouts I recieved a Gift Card to the Shoppe. Woo-Hoo! I have never been recognized before so it is kind of amazing to me.
Anyways, I hope your day was good. Mine was very busy and FULL of parents visiting their babies at work. I am exhausted.

Where was I?
So, I ended up neglecting the good old blog last week but I do have some stuff to show for what I was doing instead. Yes, I was scrapbooking and having a great time doing it too. So, here are a few pages I did.

I have really enjoyed Sweet Shoppe's new challenge program (Making pages to get 40% off their store). The big project I did was make a little badge album ABC book for Katelynn. I think it is cute and she is able to hold on to it pretty well. I just need to figure out how to control the drool factor! Her drool gets through the openings and has damaged one page and I just finished it today. I think that I might put some clear tape on it to protect the pages.

Other than that I have been a mom this week and enjoyed most of it. Things can get a little hairy in the 6 o'clock hour. Ever since birth that has always been the hour she has the hardest time getting through. Nothing seems to keep her happy for longer than a minute, even if I am right there with her. But she is just so cute and fun and learning things all the time.
I did go on a "Girl's Night Out" on Friday. Amy picked me up and we met some other girls (moms) for dinner at Dog House Grill. Which is so good. I get their Tri-tip tacos because I like their Tri-Tip but they put way too much on their sandwich. Their salsa is very mild but flavorful which is a plus for me. After dinner we went to Roller Town. (Dude, WAY too many memories of going there for honor roll, or something like that in elementary school) Not much has changed. I brought my roller blades that I hadn't been in for a couple years and made it through the night without falling on my bum. Ben told me before I left that If I came I came home with a broken arm I would be in trouble. We then went to McDonalds for ice cream but Amy and I didn't stay long since her kids were starting to go crazy, and it was way past their bedtime for crazy. It was a great night and I had a great time with the girls. The one thing we did notice was that of the six that were there and of the ones that couldn't make it, we had the youngest kids. I guess we needed a break.
Talk to you later.

I Scrapbooked!!
I am so excited to say that I finally scrapbooked a page. I am thinking about getting back into Sweet Shoppe's challenges again so we shall see. I am just excited that I actually did it here's a preview for you.

Journaling Reads:
Max and Jesse’s 4th Birthday party on December
19th, 2009. This was Katelynn’s first Birthday
party and she had a great time. The boys were
happy with all of their presents and were still
talking about their trip to Disneyland on their
Birthday. We gave Max and Jesse Transformer
Hot Wheel cars that they were fighting over
before we had left their party.
Have a great weekend and I hope to get another page done too.

After 8 months and 1 day ....
.... we have our first tooth. She has been "teething" for the past 4 months. Since Amy was so kind as to show me Alyson's tooth a few weeks ago of what a gum looks like with a tooth about to cut I knew more of when to expect it. The past couple of days I knew it would be soon. And here we are, the sharpness finally came through. No pics of it because you can't see it and she won't let me in her mouth. She thinks that it is her tooth or something and Mommy doesn't need to know about it!! The second tooth seems to be right behind it. It will be so weird to see her with teeth. I love her gummy little smile. I should get some more pics today of her before the tooth take over her mouth.

8 Months
Katelynn is beginning to be my big girl. In this past week we have had to drop her crib level, she isn't pulling up yet but I know it will be soon and I don't want her falling out of the crib. We started putting her in the big tub since she was rolling around too much in the baby tub. We have her big car seat waiting in the family room to be installed and we have the stroller for her to sit up in since we won't be using the carseat stroller anymore. She is moving all around too. She is starting to perfect her army crawl and will get on to her hands and knees for just a second. She is talking a little more saying ba-ba-ba-ba and ma-ma-ma-ma and da-da-da-da. She hasn't said those thing to me yet so I don't think she knows mama yet. We may have turned a corner in her solid food eating. I am relaxing more and letting her have more from my plate and she is starting to eat better from the spoon. There are still many things I won't let her have but we are exploring her food options. She loves to feed herself and when she is getting bored with eating she will start blowing raspberries in the spoonfuls. It's great times when she is doing that. She is giggling more at us and it is so cute to hear her laugh. Her teeth are days away from coming out I am starting to see the tooth through the gums it is so close. She is such a cutie and from what everyone tells me, she is SO tall. I am around her all the time so I don't have anything to compare her to, but what else are we to expect from Ben and I. She is still wearing 12 month clothes and size three diapers. She also cut out her five am feeding and gets only four bottles a day. She won't have another Dr. appt for a month but I know she is over 20lbs. Here's a video from Wednesday of her doing all sorts of tricks for your viewing pleasure. We have army crawling, rolling, talking, playing, and flying.
