Great Day

Surprisingly, after getting off to a very late start we were very productive and we got many things checked off our to do list.

We got up at about nine didn't make a fussy breakfast just eggs and toast. Then we sat infront of the computer until 12. I finally found some adhesive remover and got our butts off the computer chairs, did some laundry. This is where the fun begins we got outside and I started weeding the front and backyards and Ben organized the garage. We had a shelf that we got from Ben's parents that was just laying in peices on the garage floor so we finally made it. Ben had to cut some new pieces of particle board for the shelves, it is up and finished, YEAH!! Then he cut a piece of particle board for the shelf in the storage room for our food storage. We have a food storage rotaters from Shelf Reliance.com I really like it, the only problem was that there was this huge open space on top that was perfect for having a top shelf but there was no plywood that they sent with it so we filled it in ourselves. Now I get to fill it up.

Three of Ben's scouts came over and did some more building on the klondike Derby sled. They are supposed to be snow camping this weekend but we shall see what happens. If it is raining up there he will cancel it. The YW are supposed to meet them up there on Sat but if it is Raining down here I am not driving up there, escpecially since I have to drive the Nissan.
Well, I hope that everyone had a great day type at you later.

That's ME!!!!!

So, on Monday I was visiting all of the sites that I like to check out and 90% of them are for scrapbooking and on one of the sites, it is Janet Phillips a designer I like that keeps up a pretty good blog, she had an easy contest to win this

It looks like really nothing but I take the papers and supplies that I have and make it look totally different you can use them time and time again and have the page not look the same twice. They are pretty much starters to get at least my inspiration going. Here is an example

Before

After

She asked us to write about why we liked to use templates and we could win the above pack, a $45 value. This is what I said:
I am a lurker here and have been for a while now. I started getting your Grab bags back in the summer and I can't stop getting them. I love templates. They really are so versitile. I really have a hard time getting pages started so that everything flows correctly on the page. So, templates are so great because they give me that ceative boost that I need to get my juices flowing. As soon as I get the creativity flowing it always so much easier to add all the embellishments and things to make it mine so much easier. I Love Templates. This past Thanksgiving I got a friend of mine started on Digi scrapping and when she saw the black and gray things that I was pointing her to she wasn't so sure about them, but one thing that she bought included a template and I showed her how to use them and she fell in love too. I don't know why anyone would not love templates. It truly is how I get things scrapped. Thanks for creating such user friendly things and sharing your inspiration on this blog.

This was on Monday and I had totally forgotten that I had did this so on Sat when I checked out her blog and I saw this

I hit Ben and said "Ben, that's me!" I am so excited! I have never won anything so I am totally jazzed about it.
I know that you all are thinking I am crazy and might even be confused about what I am talking about but basically I won something that I am excited about and I wanted to tell you all :)

Today we had a great Sunday afternoon. The Zarco's came over for dinner. Sister Zarco and I made a cake, shehad never made a cake before, she didn't even know how to open the cake mix box! I just love her to pieces! We just laugh so much when their family comes over, it is great. We played Yahtzee, and laughed. Tomorrow we are going over to their house for their son's 16th birthday. I am sure we are going to laugh a whole lot more, I am going to take my camera and get some pics with them for sure.

Hope you all have had a great weekend, Ben is off tomorrow for MLK day, so we shall see what we do. Talk to you later

Scouts

Does everyone know that Ben is the new scoutmaster for our ward? He has been trying to do an awesome job. Everynight since he has gotten this calling he has worked at least an hour trying to get everythinglined up for them. He is really doing a great job. I have decided though that I am the assistant Scoutmaster as I have to help him get things orgainized and ready for the boys. I never knew all that was involved with scouting especially since I had no brothers. There are quite a few guys in the ward that are a great help to him, and can let him know of things to do with the boys. He is going to try and do one campout a month. This will be good for Ben as he has been looking for people to go camping and hiking with. Hope that all is well with everyone.
I will type at you all later.

Public Service Announcement

I would like to publicly thank Heather for getting us this new cookbook.

It has very indepth instructions and tells you exactly what to do. Sometimes a little too much. So on Monday I had my first experience using the book and I had all the ingredients to make the Turtle Cake but something was wrong. I was asked to get the German Chocolate cake mix with pudding. So, I went to three stores looking for this German Chocolate cake mix with pudding to to avail. I just picked up the box and said to heck with it I'll just have to make do without the pudding. I went home and starting to make it and guess what I found out

If you look closely on the box in the left hand corner it says "As always Pudding in the Mix" Thankfully I was able to notice this as I was making this so I didn't do anything stuipid. The cake was great I wouldn't do any thing to change it. It is better warm, but oh so good.

Today I have decided to stay home and do no running around. Since I was running around way too much on Mon and Tues. and got nothing done at home. So, I will talk to you all later.

Monday Monday

So, since we have lived in the house for a year now we had our year end walk through a few weeks ago and so now we are having all sorts of people come through and fix the things that are bugging me. The carpet was coming loose from the joints of the pergo, the plumber came by to make sure that the line wasn't plugged because the hall toilet seems to clog way too much. The drywall guy is coming today to fix a piece of the drywall in the shower enclosure. Then the outside stucco guy has to come and the sprinkler guy since one of the main valves is cracked and shouldn't have happened.

For three days I have been working on backing up my Scrapbooking supplies and photos. I have almost 80 gigs of stuff on my secondary hard drive. I really need to purge.

Tomorrow I am going to my parents house to help my mom finish a quilt that she is making for Becca. Becca and Chet just got accepted for an offer on a house. They are to move in on Feb 1, which is great so that when we go see them in March we can stay with them.

Hope everyone has a great Monday. Type at you all later.

Slumber Party!

I have always wondered why they are called slumber party when there is really no slumbering involved. The girls are still asleep but it is not surprising when I heard them still awake at 3:30 this morning. They really did have alot of fun playing the Wii, there were only three girls that came over but that was fine because they had all the fun for themsleves.

I am really trying to be better at this whole blogging thing. I like to keep things updated and so hopefully You all will know what I am up too. But today there is nothing much happening so it is short. Type at you all later.

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone. Hope that it has been a good one so far. I have been working for most of it. I worked New Years Eve and New Years Day. Nothing too spectacular happened. We had some friends over that night and hung out for a few hours, they brought their 14 month old daughter who was very well behaved and wasn't going too bonkers, but at 11 it was time for them to go home. So, we ended up in bed at midnight. Then I was the lucky one who had to wake up 6 hours later to get to work. Oh well it wasn't too bad. My assignment kept me very busy so I didn't even think about the lack of sleep.

Speaking of lack of sleep that again will happen tonight. I have the Young Women coming over for the sleep over. I think that the max there will be here should be 7 girls, that is the Miamaids and Laurels, if they all show up. and then since Ben bought all that stuff for New Years Eve and we didn't eat it all we will be having hopefully the rest of that tonight.

We were supposed to go to LA this last weekend but Thankfully we didn't we both were sick and it really would have been no fun for anyone. so maybe in a few weekends we will go down. Well everyone that is it for now. I will type at you all later!
