Nesting Part 1

I really have no excuse for not being on top of blogging. I usually have time now everyday where I could sit and do this but I haven't been feeling it. So we will see where this post takes us.

Yes, I am off work. Last Thursday was it and it really has been weird to think that I don't have to go back for a few months. I have been doing little projects around the house to try and get ready for Katelynn but every time I really think about it there seems so be so much more that I need and want to do before she comes. Hopefully, she'll come when I am ready (insert laughing here). I guess I will just take this all one day at a time and whatever happens, happens. Everyone says though that she could be here any day now and that is a little crazy.

The house is slowly getting cleaned up and ready. I do little projects a day towards that one. My mom came over last week and helped me do some stuff and she'll be coming out once a week to help and for company. We went through the pantry last week and was quite amazed at how much stuff I had that was expired. I try not to buy stuff that won't be used but I guess things slip to the back of the cupboard.

My mind is going in so many different directions sometimes that I can't figure out what I should be doing. I just want everything to be okay and everything will be since I have Ben and he is a huge strength to me.

Here are a couple of Layouts from Katelynn's book.

I hope to get that futher along so I can be ready to just put the pictures of her in it when she comes. We shall see. I hope everyone is well. Type at you later.

4 am

I hate that time of day. For the past few weeks I have been waking up at that time for no good reason. I turn over and look at the clock and it says 4:00. Of course I don't get out of bed but instead I usually lay there for 30 min to an hour trying to fall back to sleep, but then Ben's alarm goes off at 5am and I am awaken again. I know that it is only going to get worse. I just hope that 4 am isn't her wake up time. The funny thing is Ben has been doing the same thing too. I don't know if I wake him up by turning (I don't turn very agile any more, there is alot of shaking going on when I turn in bed, well, I am not agile in any move I make in that case anyways)or if he wakes up himself but we both hate to see that time on our clocks.

Call Off

So, Friday I asked the charge nurse if I could be placed on the call off list for Sunday. The census has been extremely low and they have been sending nurses all over the hospital to cover other units so I thought it was worth a shot. Since it was a holiday it was going to be a long shot that they would actually call me off. The worst that could happen was they would not call and I would have to go to work.

My alarm went off at 5am and I waited until 5:19 and was loosing hope, but then it happened my cell rang and the night shift charge was calling and telling me I was called off. WOO-HOO!!! So, I spent Easter with Ben and we are now down to just Thursday for working. One day. I can make it.

Success!!

Saturday was very successful for my mom and I. Ben decided that he really didn't need anything at REI and slept in instead. So, I met up with my mom and we walked around Old Town. This is my favorite thing about them living so close to Old Town we don't have to hunt for parking and a half a block away is where the fun begins. I was searching for anything cute and relativly inexpensive. What we found were BOWS! I got a couple at my shower and from Target and I doubled my supply at the Big Hat Days. Amy and Ammy would be very happy with my finds. I did decide though that the $6 that they were charging for the bow keeper was a little too much and we could make that ourselves and we did for $1.50. Ben thinks I am nuts with all the bows but, I like them I even got one for Fourth of July.

There weren't too many children's clothes but we did find one outfit. I think it is so cute. I can't wait until she fits it.

The biggest success of the day was finding this name puzzle. I have learned that Katelynn isn't the most common way to spell her name but it is an accepeted way to spell it and so I wasn't expecting to find her name as a puzzle but it was and I had to get it. Now it is in the nursery waiting for her to play with it when she gets older.

Just an FYI: Only 3 more shifts!!

Type at you later.

What happened??

Another week down and I was way too busy. I am now getting to the point where I can't do as much as I want to or else i get really cranky, crabby and tired, ask Ben he is noticing a major difference in my attitude. Ben would say that I am being a kitty cat. For example on Wed I went to Target for 15 min, a chiro appt with a mini massage, to lunch at sweet tomatoes and then to Costco. I left home at 10:30 and was back by 2:30 but I was exhausted and pissed because I was exhausted. Then I feel like nothing is getting done when things are being done. It might have been because I haven't really been home doing things here since a week ago and I feel like I just want to be home. Anyways enough rambling here are the highlights for the week.

Showered
On Sat I had my family baby shower, with the help of everyone in the family to put it together. I truly appreciate all the work and effort everyone made to have the shower and to come. Thanks everyone! Beth made the cutest favors. I really loved them.

The gift that I was most surprised by was a quilt that my sister Sarah MADE. Sarah is the one that has no real sewing, crafty desires out of the three sisters. If she does she hides it, and maybe since she has the boys she doesn't do this more anyways. Here is me with the surprised look on my face asking her if she made it, and then turning to my mom and saying with you right by her side right. They both laughed since they knew it was true that Sarah would need our mom's help with it. They even placed a 'K' in the center with the pink squares. It is sideways in the pic.

The other gift I loved was a onesie and bib set that was embroidered with Katelynn's name on it. I blinked in the pic but oh well. I can't wait until she gets big enough to wear it.

There was a lot of pink and girly bows bigger than her head, useful things like bath stuff and Tylenol and a boppy and books, you can never have enough of those. I am so appreciative of everything that I received and I think we might be getting closer to being "ready" for her.

On a Mission
Beth came by after the shower and decided that we were going to put together the crib. And so we did after quite a bit of reading and re-reading the instructions we think that it will be safe enough for Katelynn. Then we got started on the dresser. Had a mistake there and we finally got the frame together. Ben and I later put the drawers together. I am so happy about the dresser it is the perfect height to be the changing table and it will hold quite a bit of stuff to. The only problem was it came with boring black handles. So I went hunting for knobs in stores and nothing was saying buy me. So I found these handles on etsy.com and am so happy. I know I could probably make these myself but I don't want to.

Sorry no pic of the nursery yet. I want to get the knobs and then I'll post it and then it is quite the mess right now with clothes being organized and blankets needing to be washed. Soon though.

Turn Baby Turn
I had my ob appt on Tues and nothing too exciting, but she is sideways. So, Katelynn needs some persuasion to turn and head down would be preferable. I guess only 3-4% of babies are malpositioned at delivery so there is still a high chance that she will still turn.

Tomorrow
Saturday is going to be a fun day. Ben has the REI garage sale in the morning. I am going to stop by and check out the goods at 10. He'll be there alot earlier than that. Then I am going to Old Town for the Arts and Crafts fair and probably a tri-tip sandwich. I am hoping to find some things that I don't need but want for Katelynn :) Then I am heading to a Baby shower for a co-worker. There is three showers in three weeks at work. This is #2. Mine is on Wed.

Last but not least
If you made it this far, I am proud. Here is my belly shot from Sat at 32 weeks. Dear, I am "heavy with child" as Ben says. I guess that this is what is supposed to happen, right?? :)

I will talk to you all later.
