It was Quiet

As I was finishing getting dinner ready today I noticed that Katelynn wasn't with me and that it was very quiet. The only places that she could be were in her room or the living room but I could tell that she wasn't in the living room. I peeked down the hall to see if I closed all the doors to the office, our room, and the bathroom and they were closed. So, I peeked in her room to find her being cute as ever.

She has this shelf in her room that we have put a few toys in. she pulled out the toys, pulled out the box and sat in it. I HAD to get a picture of her.

Just this past weekend she has really started climbing into things and just sitting there. Another place she likes to sit is in this kick toy. It fell over this weekend while Ben was watching her and she just climbed in and sat there. She is just too cute. I love her.

11 month old pictures

These pictures deserve their own post, not because they are outstanding but because of what we happened while I was trying to get them. I have been good about taking pictures of her on her monthly B-Days. So, today was no different except for the fact that I wanted to take them outside since the weather has been good. We went outside and I put the dogs in the front (it's gated) and started taking pictures. We started on the blanket.

Lovely picture.

She hasn't been outside much.

This green stuff is for the birds.

But hey I can walk here. Oh look a weed.

Look Mom a weed.

Thanks for the flower mom

It tastes delicious!

I want the flower back please.

I prayed that we got some good pictures, I know we got a good story. I gave her the flower because I didn't want her carrying a weed. I didn't think she would eat it. She didn't swallow any of it. Yes, this was her first time playing outside and so she got into everything. After the pictures I was doing some clean up outside and she got into the dog's water bowl, ate some dirt, tried to eat some rocks, tasted some weeds. I washed off her hands with the hose and made a puddle on the cement and she then proceeded to sit in the puddle of water. That was the end of our outside ventures for the day. We went in and changed and washed up. I will brave the outside again tomorrow with her. Hopefully I will be prepared for what she may get into. HAHAHA!!

11 Months

Katelynn, has changed so much. In just these past two weeks she has really mastered walking. I really think that it is amazing that she is walking already. I really didn't think that she would be walking now. I thought it wouldn't happen until after a year. I guess I thought that she is a baby until 1 and then she would walk then. I was wrong. She has changed her main mode of transportation from crawling to walking. She falls alot, I am glad that she has her diaper padding.
She cut her third tooth on March 26 while she was with Aunt Sarah and she has three more that are going to be cutting through in the next week or so. She really hasn't been cranky with all of these teeth coming. Which is just fine. Since she just has two teeth there are a few things that I haven't given her to eat but everything that I do give her she usually likes. She loves to feed herself and is wanting more and more to feed herself with a spoon. I fill her spoon a few times and let her put i in her mouth then I end up taking over again since I can't handle the mess. It is nice to see that she knows what the spoon is really for and not just for banging on the highchair when she is finished eating.
She has said her first word, "book" which she says boo in a very soft voice. We figured this out on Thursday when we were putting her to bed. She kept on saying boo, boo, boo and then I asked her if she wanted to read a book and she went over to her bookshelf and said boo, boo, boo. She does love her books. Her two favorites are the Farm Animal Friends, sound book and the puppy counting book. Of course a daily occurance is for her to pull the books from the shelf but she loves them and thumbs through them everyday.
She brings so much joy and happiness to Ben and I. It still amazes us that she is doing so much and learning so much everyday. We love you Katelynn!!

Easter Saturday

We had most of our Easter Celebrating on Saturday this year which is nice so we have a more peaceful Sunday. I think this idea came from Ammy and is a great way for us to celebrate Easter Sunday too. Between the morning and afternoon sessions of General Conference we had Kevin, Beth, Tara, and Brynne come over and find what the Easter Bunny had left. There was a little scavenger hunt for the Easter Baskets and they had so much fun doing that. The first egg was at the door. Here is what the scavenger hunt said:
We are going on a hunt. A hunt for Easter baskets. Where does Aunt Anna Love to play? (ask Mommy) I love to play on my laptop so there was an egg there.
Where does Katelynn Love to play? (water) She LOVES the bath tub and so they went there.
What does Tara love to play at Aunt Anna's and Uncle Ben's? The Wii. There they found a stuffed animal for each other and another egg.
Where does Uncle Ben Love to play? His computer games.
Where does Brynne love to play at Aunt Anna's and Uncle Ben's? She LOVES to play in Katelynn's room and organize it. That is where they found their Easter baskets.
We then went on an Easter Egg hunt and Katelynn joined in and very easily found her eggs which were then used as maracas. Goldfish were hidden in there for her and she loved that too. Brynne and Tara found all the eggs except one. I think Cocoa got it.
We had an enjoyable afternoon and then watched the afternoon conference session here. After Conference Katelynn and I went to my parents for an Easter egg hunt and Dinner. Damien, Max and Jesse dyed the eggs while Katelynn went around and played on the patio and the small slide. The eggs were hunted and Damien was only hunting for the plastic one he wanted the candy not the hard boiled eggs. Dinner was eaten and I found out that Jesse doesn't like the centers of deviled eggs. So, Damien gladly ate those for him.
Micah, Jennifer, and Matthew were in town this weekend and we played with them on Friday night. They also came over to Kevin and Beth's on Sunday for Easter Dinner. This was an enjoyable and busy weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed them selves and had a wonderful weekend too.
